Synesis Software Citation Public License (SSCPL) |
Last Updated: 6th November 2006 |
The Synesis Software Citation Public License (SSCPL) provides software (source code and / or binary components) to the development community free-of-charge, providing that any user does not claim ownership, nor charge for this software, and displays appropriate citations representing the provider, for inclusion in commercial and non-commercial software developments. No warranties of any kind are provided.
The SSCPL is identical to the Synesis Software Standard Public License (SSSPL) save for the additional clause (clause (vi)) requiring any user to place prominent attributions or citations to their use of the library and the contributions of the original provider.
The SSCPL is similar to the pre 22nd July 1999 modified version of the BSD license.

To use the SSCPL, include in a prominent place (such as the start of the source file) the license template given below, substituting the date for DATE, your name or organisation (or both) for PROVIDER and, optionally, your contact information (usually email and web-address) for CONTACT. In using this license you are granting users the right to use and modify the software, but it remains in all forms and at all times your property as the original provider, and users are required to place prominent citations stating your name as the original provider into the source-code, executable programs and any associated literature of any work based on or using the software.
